Deputy Director of Defence Ministry Training Institute Injured in Shocking Snatching Incident in Delhi | Delhi News
NEW DELHI: A deputy director of a training institute under the Ministry of Defence became the latest victim of snatching when her iPhone was snatched by two bike-borne men in South Delhi‘s Lodhi Colony. The woman was also hurt during the incident.
The complainant told cops that the incident happened to her on September 26. “I had come for dinner to a restaurant with my friends.After dinner, as I moved out around 9.40pm, some suspicious character came from behind and snatched my iPhone 15 Pro,” she said.
Their faces were covered, and they came with rapid speed on a red bike wearing blue and black clothes. They snatched her phone and hurt her face as well. “My office usage number and all data on the phone are of serious concern. Kindly help in finding the phone back,” the complainant said.
Police said they have formed multiple teams to crack the case. “We are scanning CCTV footage of the area and other places to ascertain the sequence of events and routes taken by the accused to flee,” police said. A case under sections 304 (2) (snatching) and 3 (5) (common intention) of BNS.
The incident came days after a 40-year-old constable with the CRPF was targeted by snatchers. His phone was snatched in South Delhi’s Lodhi Colony. The incident took place when he was waiting at the bus stop and scrolling through something on his phone. Two men arrived on a motorcycle and snatched his phone.
The Delhi Police data shows this year 4,316 cases of snatchings reported till August.
