Exclusive – The Great Indian Kapil Show 2: Archana Puran Singh compares Sunil Grover to Hollywood actor Jim Carrey; says ‘His face mobility is like him’

Recently, the team of The Great Indian Kapil Show had an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, where they discussed Sunil Grover and Krushna Abhishek’s much-talked-about finale act.
Just like the audience, even the cast members, Rajiv Thakur and Archana Puran Singh, were blown away by Sunil Grover’s brilliant mimicry of Salman Khan. Archana was so impressed that she went on to compare Sunil to Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, praising his ability to embody characters with such precision and humour.
Praising Sunil Grover, Rajiv Thakur shared, “Whenever I meet Sunil bhai I always tell him how do you manage to pull off the mimicry of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan so effortlessly with this same face. Aisa face ban jaata that he perfectly looks like Shah Rukh Khan and even looks like Salman Khan while doing mimicry. Same face se choti si koi baat karte hain Salman, chota sa phir kuch karte hain SRK, aur kuch change karte hain toh Bachchan sahab. Ek hota hai dialogue bolke mimicry karte hain, inka waisa nahi hai.”.
Archana Puran Singh, who was also part of the interview, added, “His talent is like Jim Carrey. His face mobility is like Jim Carrey. Pura expressions, haav bhaav hota hai.
The act, which featured them mimicking Bollywood superstars, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan became an instant hit and left viewers in splits of laughter. After the finale, the entire social media was flooded with comments and memes, calling Sunil a threat to AI. Reacting to the memes, Sunil Grover said, “Yes, I saw the memes. It felt really good. Jab aap kuch kaam karte hain aur log usko itna pasand karte hain, positively react karte hain toh aapko accha lagta hai. Bus ye tha ke bhai ka reaction wahan se kuch galat na aaye (When you do something and people appreciate it so much, reacting positively, it feels really good. The only concern I had was that Bhai’s (Salman Khan) reaction from there shouldn’t be negative). We had fun doing it and we all had put in so much of effort.”
